I checked in today on you and my heart absolutely ached and just wanted to hug you. You have such a wonderful blog, but it's been very difficult to "re-experience" all this pain again; hence, I have lost both of my parents to this same evil disease: cancer! I know what it is like to slowly see this disease rob them of their energy, appetite and life. I know what it is like in the beginning to pray that God would heal them to only turn that prayer around to ask that God would spare them pain and to take them home!

As hard as it is to re-live those hard moments, I RELISH in the thought that my parents and your dad KNEW that they had a eternal home and that we would all meet again. What calm assurance we have and to think how sad to know that there are those out there who does not have our "peace that passes ALL understanding".

Sweetheart....feel your blogging friends arms around you....hugging you tight!! Know that the effectual fervent prayers are lifting you and your family up in prayer!!

From someone who's been there twice - Angie

You and your family are in our prayers. May God grant you comfort and peace as you travel and go through this time in your life. I am so glad your dad is where there are no more tears, no more sadness, and no more pain. In fact He promises to wipe all of our tears away. What a God, He will personally wipe your dad's tears away! May that thought fill you with such joy!
Love,
Megan

Dearie, I am so sorry and will be praying for you, your mom, Jeromy and the rest of your family. It was nearly three years ago that we sent my dad off with similar blessings. Praise God for the gift of preparation and the knowing that we will see them again.

Tara,
Know that our prayers are with you and your family. I can identify with the long struggle of losing someone you love. But, as it has been stated many times before me, at least we know your dad is in a place where there will be no more pain, and he is rejoicing once again! That, and there will be that One fabulous day when you will get to see your dad face to face one more time! Again, know that our prayers are with you guys, and imagine a hug from your crazy next door neighbor from Pilly:)

I love these photos, they are a great testimony to your father's life. I imagine there are more, but I begin to see he has a great sense of humor, a very full life and you and your brother are a legacy of how much of a wonderful God-fearing, God-loving, man of Jesus your father is. And I say 'is' because Gary is truly alive with Jesus!

My sympathies are with you and your family. I know it was expected, but that doesn't make it easier. I enjoyed the photos. So glad your dad is now healed and without pain! Praise the Lord!
